DCMO BOCES is one of just 37 BOCES that partner with school districts throughout New York State to help meet students' evolving educational needs through cost-effective and relevant programs. BOCES were created in 1948 by the New York State Legislature. Employing over 400 staff members, DCMO BOCES is a regional educational agency providing services in partnership with 16 local school districts covering 1825 square miles in Upstate New York. DCMO staff work not only on our two instructional campuses and our Support Services Center, but many are working in the schools of our school districts.
DCMO BOCES is governed by a seven member Board of Education selected by the school boards of our sixteen component districts, and is led by District Superintendent Michael Rullo. Mr. Rullo serves as the BOCES chief executive officer and has a cabinet of six administrators to support him and the Board in the management of the BOCES.
DCMO BOCES offers a wide range of services to component schools, municipalities, and students at our educational facilities. From PK–12 Educational Services to Instructional Support Services that support educators throughout the region, BOCES caters to the needs of our schools and their students. DCMO also offers a variety of Management Services such as printing, safety/risk management, and business office support to the school districts in our region.
