Mr. Alan D. Pole retired in September 2008 as the District Superintendent for DCMO BOCES after 18 years in this role. Prior to this Mr. Pole spent 16 years at the Onondaga-Cortland-Madison BOCES in several key positions, including Personnel Director, Assistant Superintendent, and Deputy Superintendent. In his role as District Superintendent, Alan oversaw a successful referendum campaign in which voters approved a $48 million renovation and expansion of the DCMO facilities, which was completed in the Spring 2009. In addition, he conducted numerous superintendent searches for local component districts and has been involved in several school district reorganization studies in and outside the region. Among his many awards, Alan has received the William Deming Leadership Award from the Rural Schools Program at Cornell University and the Amy Bull Crist Leadership Development Award given by the New York State Association for Women in Administration. On June 18, 2021 the DCMO BOCES Board of Education recognized Alan for his long, outstanding service to the BOCES by renaming the Chenango Campus in North Norwich to the Alan D. Pole Campus in his honor.
DCMO Facilities
DCMO BOCES has two regional educational centers, one in the Norwich area and one outside of Sidney. These campuses house programs such as Career and Technical Education, Special Education, Childcare, and Adult and Continuing Education. In addition, the Norwich campus is also home to our administrative and services office, the Support Services Center. The campuses have been named to honor the service of two retired DCMO administrators.

Mr. Robert W. Harrold
Mr. Robert W. Harrold was a long-time educator who retired from DCMO BOCES in 1992 after 30 years of service to the region, 25 as Assistant Superintendent for Instruction. Bob's tenure pre-dates the merger of two BOCES, the Chenango BOCES and Western Delaware BOCES into DCMO in 1969 and dates back to one-room schools throughout the region. As Assistant Superintendent, he was the bridge to unify the two BOCES into one organization. Mr. Harrold was integral to the purchase of the property the Harrold Campus sits on, as well as the design and construction of the school buildings which opened in 1971. Bob was viewed by many as the superintendent of the Western Delaware BOCES. During his tenure, Mr. Harrold served a number of DCMO District Superintendents and oversaw the growth of DCMO to an institution with 350 employees serving 19,000 students. A staunch advocate for career and technical education, a champion of shared services, and sensitive to the needs of all students, Bob Harrold was "Mr. BOCES," especially in Delaware County, where he resided and was active in the community. Bob had a huge heart and a quick, warm smile for everyone. He was a man of great integrity who was respected by all who knew him. The Western Delaware campus was renamed in his honor in 1992 at the time of his retirement.
