On Tuesday May 16, 2023 the DCMO BOCES Harrold Culinary Arts students were able to tour Turning Stone Casino in Verona.
Students received a behind-the-scenes tour of their kitchens, commissary, and the Tin Rooster.
The tour was led by one of Turning Stones Executive Sous Chefs who gave a very detailed description of what their staff does on a daily basis including the production of items packaged at Turning Stone and then sent to their other businesses.
Students also learned about Turning Stone's internship program that employs people from all over the world.
To finish the day, students were able to visit Opal's bakery within the casino to buy some treats to take home.
On May 22, 2023 students from the DCMO BOCES Harrold Campus Culinary Arts program attended the Ginsberg Food Expo in Albany!
Students were able to sample food products from companies such as Hatfield, Kontos, Lipton, 1909 Heritage Farms, Harvest Creations, Blue Bunny and more.
This event marks the first food show that our Culinary students have been able to attend since the Covid pandemic.
