Dogs on leashes

Attention all dog owners! Dog obedience classes are coming to DCMO-BOCES Pole Campus in Norwich starting on May 10, 2023. These classes are a fantastic opportunity for dog owners to improve their relationship with their furry friends while also helping them become more well-behaved and socialized.

Classes are open to all breeds and ages, and a comprehensive study guide will be provided for all. Owners will also receive in & out of class instructor support, with class size being limited to ten participants. These classes will be an interactive experience, allowing for the development of communication between dogs and their owners.

The puppy obedience class will be held on Wednesdays from 6-7 p.m., specifically designed for puppies between the ages of three to ten months. The class activities and pace will be geared towards the learning abilities of puppies and will include handling and desensitizing exercises to make your puppy a more confident canine.

The basic dog obedience class will be held on Wednesdays from 7-8 p.m., designed for dogs 10 months of age and older. In this class, participants will learn safe and effective handling, training theories and techniques in easy-to-learn steps. They will also be introduced to basic commands including sit, down, release, auto-sit, heel, and recall.

It's important to note that proof of current rabies, distemper, and parvo vaccination is required. All owners must attend the initial handler-only orientation (no dogs).

The course fee is $99, and spaces are limited. Don't miss out on the opportunity to improve your dog's behavior and your bond with them. To register for these upcoming classes or for more information, please call 607-335-1210
