Students from Ms. Owens' class designed and delivered an engaging lesson on the water treatment process at the DCMO BOCES Harrold Campus, with help from their teacher and Mr. Durler of the Operations and Maintenance staff. This lesson included a lecture which incorporated educational technology and a group activity. Thank you to our outstanding students, teachers, and operations and maintenance staff for creating such an engaging and educational lesson about our building's state-of-the-art water treatment system!

The 2024 NYS SkillsUSA Leadership and Skills Championships came to a close this morning, with a lively awards ceremony. DCMO BOCES got called a few times, with Kristofer Laymon and David Ferreira of the Pole Campus winning Bronze in the Interactive Application Team competition, and Justina Parsons of Pole Campus earning gold and a trip to the SkillsUSA National Competition in June! Advisor Jeanni Romanowski and the Harrold Campus chapter were recognized for Chapter Excellence. Thanks to the SkillsUSA advisors Chef Romanowski, Erin Engle-Thomas, Heidi Ruff, Nanette LaTourette and Ann French, and all the teachers who helped prepare our junior and senior competitors for the state competition. It’s been an exciting two days!

Nearly 50 DCMO BOCES students from both Harrold and Pole campuses were in Syracuse today for the NYS SkillsUSA Leadership and Skills Championships, held at the New York State Fairgrounds. They and their advisors joined hundreds of other student competitors from across the state for a day of skills evaluation, presentations, and leadership activities. Results of the competitions will be announced at an awards ceremony Friday morning. There are more pictures to come, but these give a taste of the scale of today’s activities. Good luck, everyone!
